WEEK COMMENCING 8th August 2010
Fun4Kids have now closed for volunteering because the monsoon season is upon us and will be opening again in October.
Support work for the projects will still carry on, hopefully in the dry
Fun4Kids would like to thank the Khao Lak Community Appeal for recently donating mosquito screens
for the Kitchen and Bakery at Home and Life
If any of you fundraisers out there have any good ideas we are desparately trying to raise funds for the operation of Home and Life
The monthly running cost of Home and Life is about Thai Baht 90000 ( 1800GBP) of which 45000 ( 900GBP is for food for the 26 kids and 4 adults
Without Home and Life these kids would be starving and never go to school but now they are at school full time and will have a decent start in life.

MORE GREAT NEWS FOR FUN4KIDS !!
WALKING FOR THE CHILDREN 2010
Mike Ilsley a returning Fun4Kids volunteer has carried out a fantastic spronsored walk from KRABI to KHAO LAK for the second year running.
This year Mike made an extended walk by covering an extra 15-20 miles more than last year over 10 days. The scenery is still as breathtaking and the supprt from the local people was fantastic. Local people gave Mike cheap accomodaion, free food and drinks and made donations to the project. Often Mike camped out in
a hammock on the beach in the most isolated places. The Thai people were absolutely amazed at Mikes determination and often supported him with fresh water. Mike combined his passion for walking with raising a lot money for Fun4Kids.

WEEK COMMENCING 13th April 2009
This is a short week because Monday was Songkran, the Thai new year, celebrated by everyone getting soaked in water.
We took the truck to Ban Nam Khem and Bansak beach and the Thai kids were delighted to throw freezing cold water over the farang volunteers.
Also we have renovated the playground at Tokamien Learning Centre before the monsoon starts.

GREAT NEWS FOR FUN4KIDS !!
WALKING FOR THE CHILDREN
Mike Ilsley a returning Fun4Kids volunteer has carried out a fantastic spronsored walk from KRABI to KHAO LAK.
An incredible distance of 150 miles in only nine days. Mike kept off of the main roads where possible and navigated mountainous tracks and pure white beaches. Spending his nights under the stars in a hammock. Mike met many local people on his walk who kindly supported him with food, water, encouragement and donations. Mike says that this walk was one of the most exhilerating and rewarding of his long hiking career.
